Looks appetizing. I see lettuce, tomatoes, red bell peppers. What is mixed in with the tuna fish?

tuna, not tunafish, because tuna is not a cow or chicken or anything else!

Funny how we only do that with some fish, we say sailfish, but that makes sense. Blowfish too. So, I checked. The reason we say tuna fish is because the fruit of the prickly pear cactus is called a tuna. The word "tuna" in Spanish can mean "prickly pear."

sorry! :( HAHA love that salad salad finish. Looked for some in the store today, but i could only find tuna. didnt want to open the can and find a tuna cactus! wanted to put an emoji that shows me rightfully scolded, but cant figure how to add emojis on here.

Wise move David, a prickly pear would not provide the protein the fish does. But thinking again about tuna fish, if we become more specific, everything changes. We say bluefin tuna or yellowfin tuna, we drop the descriptive "fish."
