How often should I be weighing in? Is there a “standard” rule of thumb or just when I want to?

Some people every day keeps them accountable, but it can be frustrating due to fluctuations. I do every day but keep it in my mind that a gain isn’t necessarily a real gain. Every few days would probably be just as good.

I used to be daily but it drove me mad with small fluctuations based on things like water retention or one bad day. I moved to Tuesday and Saturday for days that I actually record my weight and try to resist checking other days

It's different for a lot of people and that's okay. I'm in maintenance and weighing everyday works well for me. It helps me spot trends before they get out of hand. I have been here since 2012 and I have seen many reach their goal and slack off only to return months and sometimes 20 or 30 pounds later...

I weigh EVERY day! I need to keep myself in check. I need the information to keep me in check. BUT - I only record on here once a week. That is because of the fluctuations during the week....

I weigh in every day and it's kind of disappointing at times. Sometimes I feel it better to weigh in say once a week. I am keeping to my 2000 cals a day and burning off lots in hikes; have a daily goal of 10,000 steps, but more often than not I'm closer to 20,000. Today's an example at over 22,000 step, but still not a noticeable difference in weight. I should stay away from the scales for a few days.

I weigh every day unless I am doing terrible: spelled binging. Last summer and fall I didn't want to face the truth and wasn't able to get control. In fact I don't even know how I or anyone else gets control other than just getting to the point we can't stand ourselves. Like John10251 said I returned months later 20 lb higher.

once a week on the same day and time

Once a week, same day, same time if possible. For me, weighing in everyday was just too much anxiety especially since our weight can go up or down a lot in one day.I'm much calmer with once a week.

I was double weight for decades. So for me weight related matters are critical. I weigh myself every day morning and evening. I log them at excel and watch the chart trend. I do this for the last ten years! Huge database! So I am experienced enough not to be fooled and depressed from fluctuations. Nowadays I am sure I can live with no weighing. Nothing more reliable than my trousers!

Whatever works for you is best. when I was in my weight loss journey, I used to weigh once a week after a rest day ideally but for me changes would normally show on scales mid week 😊 .... now at maintenance I only weigh occasionally to check how it is, if I see massive gain then know what's not working and time to change some routines

Once a week on Saturday. I have been holding steady for awhile now and allow myself about a half lb up or down from where I want my weight to be as a goal. If it is higher/lower than that I weigh myself again on Sunday, Monday to make sure it was just a fluctuation and that I don't have to make any adjustments in my food selections. Works for me.

I weigh everyday and I think I need to stop. I get very disappointed when I don’t lose and actually gain even though I ate very good and worked out-which causes me to want to binge because it makes me feel like I failed. I need to weigh once a week I think. Everyday has turned me into a nutcase!

yah, I do an official weigh-in every Monday morning. But sometimes, to track response to daily calories and exercise, I check each morning. - to observe immediate effects

I only weigh once a week - same time, same place. If I weigh more, I become obsessive with the scales.
