debbra's Journal, 18 Feb 09

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR MYSELF -- This is an addendum to my journal of today. I want to remind myself that above a certain weight, my shins start to ache and burn when I walk. I weighed myself this morning, and I put myself above 166. I'm not going to record it on the chart. I know it comes from absolute sabotage and overeating for a few days, including yesterday, when I ate a TON of junk food, including Ritz crackers, Hershey's Hugs, Marshmallow Peeps, just to name some of the stuff. I know where the weight came from. But I'm absolutely determined to stay away from that junk and to eat healthy.

I just did 60 minutes on the treadmill. I think I'll call it quits for today, as I have pain in my shins, like I said. A week ago I was going the whole time at 3.7 level 7. And today I had to do most of the walk at 3.5, level 5. I am just so P.O.'d at myself. But instead of complaining -- or I should say -- along with complaining, I'm going to work hard to pull myself up and out. The Core Plan is it! And I will have this extra weight off in two weeks!!! (I was going to say one week. But I want to be realistic.)

I know this entry is just for you, but I still have a bit of that problem (legs hurting) or the worst is my feet feel like they are going to FALL off; or literally have the fall asleep feeling. After losing some weight this problem is less of an issue but I know it is because I am carrying so much weight. Basically honey, you are not alone and there are others that understand exactly what you are saying!

If your shins are hurting try to do something else for exercise for a while, that pain can turn into shin splints if you keep pushing it and that is not fun. Listen to your body always. ((Hugs))

Get some ice packs on those shins, this will take the inflammation down, also a motrin. You don't want to get the shin splints going, that will prevent you from exercising! :)

I am so sorry you are struggling and not feeling 100% physically. Please be kind to yourself and choose something low impact for a few days until you are healed physically. As for junk food I have found that giving myself permission to have it gives me control over it and stopping and tasting it fully is the key to not eating a "ton" of it. Sometimes just a bite is enough because I know I can have more later if I really want it. Also making sure I am hungry and not just eating to eat helps me. It might be helpful for you as well. Best wishes. :)
