debbra's Journal, 01 Dec 08

Here I am Monday morning, after what I consider to be a dangerous four days. I am somewhat pleased with myself. I made it through Thanksgiving having lost weight. But yesterday was tougher. It was my son's birthday party, and I went a little nuts in the sweets department for the kids. I gave them a cookie decorating activity, a pinata filled with candy, and two birthday cakes. I had a lot of guests, but most of them didn't want cake; so I had way too much. Well, I was pleased with myself up until the guests left. Then I ate. Now, luckily my husband and I had thrown away most of the sweets. But I did manage to get my hands on a piece of pizza, guacamole, extra bread, and one cookie that had gone uneaten. Then in the middle of the night, I went back to my old ways and came down and ate more. And to top all that off, I didn't get to do my regular exercise for the past three days. Ugh!!!! I weighed myself this morning, and the scale said I weighed five pounds more than yesterday. I have decided not to record that weight but to instead wait until tomorrow morning for my weigh-in. I'm hoping that, if I eat well today and exercise, I'll be back on track. But I do know that in the long run, if I write on here daily and "lean on" this website and read everyone's comments, I'll be able to pull myself back. I'm actually really hopeful.

You will be able to pull yourself back up. Don't worry, we all have our slip ups - it's just a matter of getting back on track and not letting those slip ups get the best of you.
