Egull1's Journal, 29 Aug 20

I'm hopping in a day earlier than you usual to report the results of my last 4000 cal surplus day. I don't have any food porn, but we did do some more delicious Thai food again and I switched out the big slice of chocolate cake with some red velvet...yum! I also did this surplus day on a Wednesday, which was a change from the norm, but I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I ended the day at approximately 4129 cals:

Protein: 192 grams
Carbs: 400 grams
Fat: 161 grams

This will be the last 4000 cal surplus day for a while. I may get one more good weekend out of the pool before the temps begin to drop, but after the first weekend in September, the sun just isn't out long enough to charge up the solar panels and thus, the water gets too cold to swim in for my preference.

I took my measurements this a.m. and it looks like I've lost 1/2 and inch around my hips (if that's even possible, LOL) and am at 31.5 instead of 32. I think my waist and hips are catching up to each other, haha!

This body definitely made use of the extra cals this week. This morning's unofficial weigh-in won't be as dramatic as previous ones because I've had a few days to release water and waste, but we may still see some blip up.

I am still going ahead as planned and starting Monday the daily caloric intake will increase by about 29 cals and bring me up to around 1715 cals per day. I think last journal I stated 1725, because I can't add apparently, LOL.

I will be zigzagging the weekly allotment as usual and it will look something like this:

Monday - 1723
Tuesday - 1743
Wednesday - 2000
Thursday - 1723
Friday - 1546
Saturday - 1546
Sunday - 1723

I'm going to see what happens in the next few weeks, but if I drop below the 112 lb. mark at any point going forward, the goal is to do the reverse diet method and increase cals by 2%. But, we'll see what happens with this slight increase first.

From now until the next pool season, there will only be one surplus day/month set around 3400-3800 cals. I like to give myself a nice range depending on where and what we eat.

Now time to see what the post surplus weigh in is...drum roll

- and the weigh in is 114.0 on the dot.

Which is pretty darn good just 2 days out from a surplus day considering last Saturday I weighed in at 113.8 with no surplus day beforehand. As always, I'll do an official weigh in tomorrow.

Even though I don't have any food porn pics this time, I did have mom take a goofy pic of this crazy buddhist and her food baby after the days indulgences. And, yes I'm definitely pushing my stomach out, but it's not easy to stand straight when you have that much food in your belly, LOL.

oh, and as requested - I'll highlight what my workouts are in tomorrow's entry. Have a wonderful Saturday, everyone.

Good picture! It reminds me of when I overate pea soup. My stomach just bloated and I could hardly move. You're doing well and it's great that you plan and have been able to enjoy surplus meals.

Actually I have been trying to go back to your journals, not sure how far I will get but it is so inspiring! People starting out should really read it. I think it would inspire them and hopefully not quit and keep going. You persevered! Of course I think that you are now in an awesome shape and so fit!

I'm way more focused on that sculpted arm than the belly. :) Awesome!

This is off-topic, but is that an iTouch Smartwatch? I'm thinking of getting one and would love to know how you like it.

Thank you, Ireland - There is a lot of meaty content in those past journal entries, and also a lot of growth. But, there was definitely a point where intention begins to feed momentum, and once that ball go rolling there was no turning back and giving up was simply not an option :-) And, thank you HCB for your input. We both know that joy is always in those non scale victories - but that data is nice because is reveals patterns we're not always aware of on the surface like which days I'm likely to hit a low on the scale, or how much water I retain now post surplus/and or workout at a lower weight than I did before. It can help provide some input or understanding as to how to tweak the process along the way for continued optimal results. And, thank you DP! You are actually the inspiration for my arm goals. You show that one pic of your arm and I told mama - "WOW! I want arms like that!" And, Larilyn - it's not an iTouch, it's a fitbit versa. But, if someone reading this has an iTouch apple watch - please feel free to comment and let her know what you think and whether or not it's worth the investment.
