Day 2 of the Daniel Fast Challenge is done. Well it's 3:25pm but I don't plan on eating any more. Both days I've had around 750 calories and 25 protein grams. I always tell my doctor I don't see how I can get a minimum of 40 protein grams just eating plants. But I'm getting lots of fiber, because most of the protein has been from kidney beans and beans have lots of fiber. So far I am not hungry at all. Drinking water all day and just having one very filling meal for lunch and a light breakfast. So see how I feel about this after a week, or two, and then 3. I tend to have a limited number of foods I like so will probably get tired of meatless chili, meatless stews and stir fried vegetables. Luckily you can find vegan recipes everywhere and Keyten provides lots of good ideas.

Fritzy, congratulations on your self-control! are you planning on eating 750 Cal per day during the whole three weeks? I don't think that is part of the Daniel fast and I feel that such a big caloric restriction will make your life more difficult than it already is when you are significantly limiting the types of food you eat

Eva - I really don't have a calorie plan in mind. It just worked out to 750 calories. And what I had was really filling. And a pretty big portion. The chili I ate most for lunch and then finished the rest for a snack. Same with the chili. The calories would even be lower except for the nuts and beans. I did buy 2 avocados yesterday and they are higher in calories. But eating piles of veggies don't add up much as far as calories. I also bought some fruit yesterday and that will also increase the calories. Keyten - I bought vegetables that I could put in a stir fry which is the easiest way for me to eat them. I don't think I bought anything you listed, but still low in calories.
