ok so I'm still super sore and having muscle spasms and struggling to sit on the toilet from lunges on Tuesday!! is being this sore for this long normal???! I even did an epsom salt soak and I'm taking ibuprofen

You overdid it! Hang in there and drink a lot of water, bump up the protein.

When you do body pump, keep track of the lunges - you don't have to do them all, just do some. Start off with a number like 20 or 30 total and don't let the hype of the music make you do too many to start off with. It's easy to get carried away but it's just like any other weight lifting program: you have to build up to it so you don't hurt yourself and quit.

Probably over did it, and this is just a newbie phase. When you workout again, you won't be quite as sore. Personally, I think a good rest of a week is advised, but see how you feel. You really need to give your muscles time to recover, and you don't want to be so beat up that it's uncomfortable because that increases the odds that you'll stop lifting and won't enjoy it. On the other hand, you do want to work your muscles to exhaustion. Taking pain killer after a workout is not entirely unheard of. You're doing great! Keep at it.
