So I've been on a 500 calorie a day for the past 22 days, but I cheat on weekend 🙈. I am yet to see the results. I have decided not to weigh myself anymore coz the numbers are going up instead of down. I jog 4km four times a week. I just want 10 kg to go away 😩
70 kg Lost so far: 0 kg.    Still to go: 17 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

To me you are eating waaaay to little calories. Rather stick to something you can manage and NOT cheat on weekends. Also the fact that you exercise means you definitely need to eat more than 500 calories!! You don't have to starve yourself to lose weight really!

Actually eating 500 calories maximum a day is considered as "fast days" by many of us who do it. Loads of health benefits are gained. Sometimes your weight can stay the same even when your body is losing fat. Perhaps try alternating 500 calorie days with a higher calorie day and see if that helps. Read up about the 5:2 Fast diet on www.thefastdiet.co.uk which some of us follow but we do it as a 4:3 ratio.

You can also try doing exactly what u are currently doing but dont eat food before midday. So you just move your breakfast of apples to lunchtime with your lunch. This will cause you to do something called Intermittent Fasting.

I want to agree with Ambzie... perhaps too little calories. Many people like the intermittent fasting thing, and it works for them, but even then: choose your food wisely. Go in on people's diet calendar's to see what they eat (look at the summary of the macros: carbs, protein and fat). And you'll see that you eat almost just glucose/carbs (glucose is found in fruit and vedge and low fat foods). Comparing it to other people's food journals that are loosing weight constantly. Go and see what it is that they do - and how long they've been doing it. I love running and therefore will choose to eat foods that will give me energy as well as help me run strong without feeling depleted. (please don't follow my food diary - I'm pregnant and eating horribly). I've sent you a buddy request - accept it and I'll email you a eating program that I follow to help me loose weight when I'm running... I also started at 4km running and can go as far as 30km's since then. For me personally, it's about feeling strong AND healthy: no use in feeling weak and then once you've lost all your weight, you pick it all up again, because your lifestyle cannot keep up with the way you ate when you were dieting. The people who are doing intermittent fasting, are doing it for life. Same with banting and all the other diets out there. Choose something that you can do for life. PS. my eating program for runners will only help you loose 5kg's over 3 weeks (so perhaps slow for your standards where you lost 10kg's in 3 weeks).

Yuuuu Yuuuu @Lhathembi 500 a day WOW. I can't do less than 1000 a day. I always think about food,food,food. Healthy foods yes. I do cheat on Saturdays little as well. Good luck sisi.

I agree with you 100% SkinnyMaringa. Well said. I'm not clued up at all but all I was trying to say is that if it isn't working for her, she can try to up her calories(in a healthy way) and adapt a healthy lifestyle and stick to it. It's not all about losing weight it's about how you feel too!
