Does any1 else have this problem with extreme acidity that feels like a heart attack in the middle of the night

I had a similar problem but during the day. Granted this was when I drank too much, smoked and eat way too much fast food. It was actually the carbs that help neutralize the acid in my case so maybe try adjusting your macros instead of going keto.

Thanks. It always helps to know that you are not alone. I just cant handle not being able to sleep at night. The burn and pain is so crazy bad. The first time it happened I thaught I was having a heart attack and hubby rushed me off to er. Now I know what the problem is but Its so painful its unbearable. so ja definitely have to rethink my diet.

Get your doctor to prescibe a PPI. There's also a surgical option for severe GERD. And Zzhero's advice is a really good idea.

I had this issue when I first started a LCHF diet and I found out that it is mostly due to too low ph levels caused by eating more naturally acidic, high fat foods. I started taking activated charcoal tablets and green superfood tablets (both are known alkalisers) and that has helped to neutralise my ph. I also try to opt for food options that are higher in ph as much as possible. It’s been 2 weeks since my awful diet induced acid reflux kept me up at night and caused me severe discomfort, and it’s actually gone away completely since making the effort to neutralise my ph. I hope this helps!
