Torta di Mele (Apple Cake)

A great breakfast apple cake.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
  2. Break eggs into a mixing bowl and add sugar.
  3. Add oil and milk and slowly add flour.
  4. Mix together until smooth, and be careful not to over-mix.
  5. Add baking powder and mix in well.
  6. Pour mixture into an 8" × 10" baking pan and layer apples on top or press under batter.
  7. Bake at 350 °F for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Sprinkle confectioner’s sugar on top while still warm.

This is the best apple cake i've ever made,,, but i didn't put a cup of sugar in it instead i just made it with 4 Tbsp powdered sugar...!

The purpose of having fat in cake is to make it moist. Without fat cake is pretty dry. That being said, 2% milk is good enough. This isn't bad for an occasional treat, esp compared to some cakes.

full fat, and full sugar. If I made this I would find ways to eliminate the sugar and cut down on the fat...

Very delicious dessert :)!! Not too sweet not too tart...my family loved this!! Used fat free milk instead of whole milk though...too much fat in whole milk...
