My year-on-year average weight has been where it is now since about 2017, and truthfully, I’m not overly concerned about losing huge amounts of weight. If it happens, great, but that’s not my goal.
My focus has almost always centred around losing weight rather than getting healthy. Recently though, my priorities have shifted. Now I want to focus on building strength and fixing my relationship with food so that I can stop starving myself and then bingeing “in secret”. What a ridiculous notion. I can see myself bingeing and I’m the only one whose opinion should count.
Ideally I’d like to lose around 20kg over the next 1-2 years. See, nice and slow. That’s because I wanna be building muscle and getting my lifts up to nice big numbers more than anything else. I’m looking forward to saying goodbye to diet culture and hello to my best life.
