I also weighed in at a xx.9 this morning... isn't that just the best feeling in the world? Finally breaching a number you've been constantly seeing on the scale. I know your number is your 138's :P so it is awesome to see you break it again

So lucky to be able to eat that much and lose.... I can't eat more than 1200 to 1300 max unfortunately....

@lessthan15 if you've been struggling with your quantity of food, look into reverse dieting. You have to be honest with yourself though in order to know if you can start your reverse diet. It requires you to stick to your "diet" for a few months though so make sure you are in the right mindset for it. If you overeat while reverse dieting, it defeats the purpose completely as you're not allowing your body to slowly get used to more and more calories

My lowest calorie intake was 1200 and I'm at 1350 at the moment (in the beginning of my reverse diet) and I lose the same, if not more

Not yet ready to reverse diet... Need to lose the weight I gained from a very bad June... Over 18 days of "extremely bad eating"...1.5 kgs to go and 6 kgs to goal... Been sitting with the same weight since early May... Going up and down because of my constant bad days so trying to change that.. Usually I follow a similar pattern as mike and it's been working well.... Down close to 14 kgs since October last year. Also... Im pretty short.. 1.57 so can't go higher than 1300 calories or I wont lose much...

My normal calorie consumption is 1800 a day. How i got here was by increasing my calories every time i plateau’d and it seemed to beat the plateau. I happy to increase as once i reach goal weight, i want my maintenance weight to be a comfortable number so i have energy and can enjoy the odd cheat now and again. The common reflex when one plateaus is to reduce calorie intake, cause we think less food equals less to burn through and more weight lost. But its actually opposite cause when we start eating less i body starts to think it must put things in reserve for a rainy day, and hence you dont loose and in the long term slows the metabolism. Less than 15, try to push to 1500 cals for 2 weeks, nothing to loose by trying the theory, other than possible long term losses.

Tx Mike I'm gonna do that... My tummy was actually rumbling so much when I got into bed last night, hubby could hear it and kept nagging me to go eat some food... 🤣😂.... And tx niiq for the advice as well.

Reverse dieting is the same as what Mike is doing. Just do it at a slower pace. Starting with 100cals. And watching the scale. When you see you’re losing, add another 100. You do that for a few months until you reach your desired maintenance calories. It takes a lot of willpower. I’m far away from that😄 I’m sure you can do it lessthan15. You have lost a lot so far.

The reverse dieting can be nerve wrecking to see the weight gain or with the platue no movement at all. Zig zagging your metabolism really does seem to kickstart it.

I’ve been doing 1400 kCal on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday and 700 kCal on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to attempt a zig zag pattern. I still want to lose 2kgs but am quite hopeful to read about reverse dieting to get back to more sustainable calories per day as currently I’m waking hungry practically every day at 2am. Any recommendations on whether I should wait til I’m at my goal weight before adding some calories and how much to add and how regularly? I’d appreciate any feedback.

Problem with waiting to hit goal weight is that you will start picking up weight when you attempt to increase your cals. It takes some time (months) to regulate the body to every increase in cals. So i would start the increase in cals now, you will pick up weight as your overall cals are 1100 cals which is quite low. The technique you using works very well to shock the metabolism and also gives you the benefit of enjoying some spoils over the weekend. The average woman should eat 2000 cals a day to maintain, so you are a little way off, but that number varies with your specifications:- age, height, activity level, etc... I started my journey on 1200 cals a day. So ive been increasing it every couple of month. Still got another 6 to 8 months to go, till i get to goal and 2500cals a day which would be my maintenance weight

Cc.carina, I don't think you'll gain weight if you don't drastically increase your calories. I'm reverse dieting now and I've planned to get to my maintenance calories by december. I'm only increasing calories by 30 a week (you can do 50 or even up to 100 per week) but I don't have anywhere to go or anything else to do this year with the current situation so might as well take it super slow. The reason reverse dieting works is that you're still in a deficit. If you do it right, you should still lose weight

I've been reverse dieting for a month now so I went from 1200 calories to 1350 calories. I've been losing just as much. I still have about 3kg to go and I started my reverse diet at 4kg to go
