Hello platuea , my old friend.
The body fights to maintain homeostasis and a plateau is a good way to let your body know what is its new normal. I used to hate plateaus. they can last a really long time, once I maintained the same weight for almost 3 months (give or take a few grams here and there) - but I know now that a plateau is actually a really great part of the weight loss process. Our bodies are going through so much change and this is necessary for our bodies to adapt to all this change. the great thing is that if you just push through then the next phase will be another good round of weight loss. I've been ranging within 500-700g of 76kg all month so I definitely know I'm on a plateau and happy to be here for a while if it means my body forgets what it was like to be almost 100kg/90kg/80kg.
76 kg Lost so far: 22 kg.    Still to go: 8 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

This is such a great point of view of plateaus! I also used to get super frustrated with them, but realized they are just part of the journey. How often do you get them? I feel I get a massive one every 10kgs I lose... then it’s stabilization time baby. 😅 I suppose it depends on how much you have to lose as well and how close you come to your goal.

I guess I probably get them between 8-10 kgs. They can last for as short as a week or two, but the longest was 3 months at 84kgs. It was rough. I really had to push myself to believe that I wasn't destined to be 84 for the rest of my life. I've had two platueas since then but both very short so I'm probably due for a good long one 😉
